The Urgent Needs Bulletin was established to provide immediate relief where its needed most. In addition to providing financial support, the bulletin provides a gateway to rapidly deploy non-monetary donations such as canned goods and clothing. The Urgent Needs bulletin will be posted here as needed andwill include a specific list of items that will provide immediate relief to the individual, family or community in need.

Valor Employee Survives the Storm
A Valor employee in Louisiana stuck it out after Hurricane Katrina but suffered significant damage to her home. Her homeowners insurance denied her claim due to an event deemed an act of God. SMS Cares provided assistance to repair the roof damage.
Hardship for PrimeFlight Team Member
Diagnosed with a potentially terminal illness, a PrimeFlight employee underwent aggressive treatments causing him to miss work and face eviction from his apartment. SMS Cares paid some back rent charges and negotiated waivers of significant late fees. This employee returned to work and still works for PrimeFlight today.
SMS Employee Killed by Random Violence
A devoted SMS Employees and his daughter who also works for SMS were traveling home from work and were robbed at gunpoint at a convenience store. The father fought to protect his daughter's safety and was fatally shot. SMS Cares provided finanacial assistance for the funeral and the local SMS employees raised additional funds for the family.
FirstLine Screener's House Fire
A FirstLine employee suffered a devastating house fire and lost everything. SMS Cares and the FirstLine team in Kansas City responded with great generosity in money, time, clothing, and household supplies. The money from SMS Cares allowed the employee to find suitable temporary housing.
